I’ve just found out that I’m one of the lucky winners of a night in any Hyatt hotel worldwide.
I blogged about the competition last month to encourage others to enter.
If you didn’t enter that competition, never mind because A Luxury Travel Blog seems to have a lot of competitions and there may be some similar ones on the horizon.
Like most people, I love getting something for nothing or a free upgrade! Our stay at the lebua, State Tower, Bangkok where we were upgraded to a huge suite (almost twice the size of what we paid for) was a case in point. I still remember that as the best hotel stay we’ve ever had – and tell everyone so at every appropriate opportunity. And one of the flights we most enjoyed was when Virgin upgraded us from Premium Economy to Upper Class on a London to Delhi flight.
For the business-minded amongst you, it looks like a good tactic – give away some freebies and people will view your brand favourably.
By the way, Not Delia (our sister site) blogged yesterday that Thorntons are giving away a “shed load” of chocolates. Unfortunately it’s only open to UK residents, so I guess it’s a consolation for those of you who haven’t escaped from Britain yet.
