Hi

Please can anyone advise whether there is the equivalent of Ofsted in Australia for the inspection and regulation of state primary schools? I'm really interested in Brisbane. One of the primary considerations for short listing where to live will be driven by the quality of the schools. Any independent advice/information on schools around Brisbane would be really useful.

IMO you pay for what you get, especially with education, and private schools certainly bring out the best in their pupils, proving the fact. They believe in discipline, which is often sadly lacking in public schools. They also expect participation in out of school hours sports events etc, and kids seem to thrive on this 'team spirit'.
