We are moving to Brisbane next year and was wondering if anyone out there can help me with suggestions of good schools, whether state or private.
I have 2 kids - 14 and 12 who have only ever studied in private British curriculum schools overseas. (Been in the Gulf for 12 years).
I have been in contact with a couple of Aussie friends in Brisbane but they have been no help!
I need personal recommendations, location is no problem as we will settle wherever we chose a school.
Thanks, Amanda

When moving to Australia, or any new country, one of the things you miss having is ‘local knowledge’. When we were selecting schools for our sons we felt added pressure from the fact that we knew little about the area we were living in and, at the time, knew few local people.

Fortunately as we got closer to making our decision Mum got to know more local families. We also made conversation with anyone we met with school age children, and tried to distinguish which schools had the best reputations, and which ones seemed to fit us best.

[Spammy link deleted by Site Admin. This is a prime example of why we don't want people to ask for recommendations on the public boards - it's just an excuse for spammy "link builders" to dump a bit of copy-and-paste text and put a link at the bottom. Reputable businesses should know that the links created in that way don't last long on well-managed sites; they're just a focus of derision from site admins and decent forum members. - Dave]
