Hello,
We are a family planning to move to Perth next year, however i just read that children do not start primary school until the year they are 7 in Perth..
My son is 5 in Sptember and will start school here this sept, can anyone confirm for me roughly when he would start school in perth??

Yes you are right about the compulsory school age, actually it's 6 years and 6 months.

Usually though, most children go to pre school before starting primary. Increasingly as mothers have to work in order to contribute to a mortgage, babies are put into daycare, and then into kindy and then onto pre school, so they are well used to the system before primary school age.

Yes, the age factor for starting with education in Perth is considered until 7 years. But it is different countries though.
