Can someone give me advice on the following please?

My six year old son had a hip operation thirteen months ago and is due to have a pin removed from his femur in July/August this year. The timing of this second op (and subsequent recuperation) coincides with our anticipated move to Australia. Can anybody let me know if this op could be carried out in Australia or would my son have to be fully fit before we can move?

You can't put anything before your childs health, and being as this is a follow on from his first op, it should be carried out under the same specialist/hospital as the first one. Continuity of care is important.

As you are only anticipating your move to aus anyway, it may not coincide at all, and also I don't think he'd be passed anyway, if his treatment isn't completed beforehand.

I know this thread is old but sometimes forums help people with the same questions so I thought I would respond. I would say "no" it will not be covered if you move to Australia unless your insurance coverage was an international coverer. Also, like the above poster said, it is wise to see the same specialist that did the operation.
