Hello again, I don't post much here as everytime I have a question I find that it has generally been dealt with before, so a huge Thankyou to all those who have gone before me and asked and answered my questions.

Well, hubby went house hunting a couple of weeks ago, he bought our daughter earrings and me a house! Well, two actually! Looks like I shall have to go into the Guest House business. We also have temporary accomodation lined up too, our Realtor is absolutely brilliant.

It's a good job he is well used to commuting, the hour from the house (presuming no rotter gazumps us) to Cambridge will be about the same as he does now to Cardiff daily.

So, does anyone know Wellington County at all? We have had our offer accepted on a property between Palmerston and Drayton, it looks like the flattest place on the universe to me as I write from my valley in the Black Mountains here in Wales. Hopefully we'll be away from here within the month.

Thanks again.

I know it very well, it is extremely pretty area, mainly agricultural but many small towns and within easy driving distance of a couple of major cities.

The area does get snow, be prepared for that, but RE is not overly priced.

A couple of hours either way and you can be in Georgian Bay or Lake Huron.

4 major Universities within immediate area.

Fergus has HUGE Scottish gathering annually.

Oh, and I don't think gazumping is such a problem here as it is in the UK, so I expect it'll work out fine.

Hey all-Sorcia, are you still around? I was raised on a hobby farm on one of the sideroads between Drayton and Palmerston. Hubby born in Palmerston and raised closeby. What a small world to hear you mention this area! Yes it is much cheaper, safe, nice and within commuting to cities, shoreline, etc. I keep recommending Wellington county on here (and neighbouring counties). Well heck, now I am curious. You see, I know all the sideroads and homes obviously. Many memories of friends getting picked up on the bus for school. Helping them milk cows. Ice skating in the fields, riding my horse, and haying! I live in another town closeby now.
Hope you are liking it. It is quiet and conservative. A little redneck at times but its nice to choose when you want the city and otherwise let the seasons roll by and enjoy the view! Very Happy
