How long does it roughly take for things to go through once someone has a job offer ?

How long is a piece of string? it depends on a few issues, ie whether you will need a medical for your work permit, whether of not your job had already been pre approved by canadian gov'

it took me 8 months from offer to work permit authorisation, and I know of someone locally who did it in 6 months - we both needed medicals which can add 6 weeks or more to processing at high commission
