We received our PR cards last week so took our theory driving test this morning and both passed, thankfully. So I have just rung up to arrange the road test to be told they don't have any appointments until mid-March.

The thing is we landed end of November so we only have until the end of this month to take our test or our UK licences will be invalid. Apparently we can drive on our interim BC licences for 60 days but only with a supervising adult!

I know we can ring to see if we can get a cancellation (every morning at 9.30am) but what else can we do??? Anyone else been in this situation?

And to think if we'd moved to a different province all we would have to do is hand over our UK licence to get the Canadian equivalent!

i know you posted your post a while ago, but did you find out the answer to your problem?? It seems judging by the number of people reading and the number of responses no one knows the answer to your problem which is the same as mine really. If I don't get my PR card within the 90 day period to satisfy the ICBC then it looks like I am am going back to UK through no fault of my own. What i don't understand is why in other provinces you just do a straight swap of your uk licence but in BC you have all this hassle and sit two tests etc. I can't help thinking why BC has to be different.

I know I'm replying little too late but it might come handy for other readers.

If you are not being able to get a road testing booking in your local area then try some other city Whistler may be or less populated area?

cheers!
