We are hopefuly moving to BC, but after reading some of the stories others have put up about their troubles with the ICBC, I was wonderring if it would be possible to transfer our licenses to Canadian ones in a different province?
We have some frends that live in Ontario, could we not go over there for a few days and get the licences changed to Ontario licences instead of having to go through the BC system?

I think there may be address problems. Here in Ontario, your driving licence is a major proof of address etc. Also, when you move house, you have to change your licence immediately to reflect this.

I am thinking of doing something similar RNR. I have arrived here in Ontario and will be staying for a couple of months before moving accross to BC. I am then hoping of just swaping my ON licence for a BC one, thus avoiding siting the test.

i didnt have the paper part of my uk licence when i went to exchange it, which they require, as it was stolen on holiday a couple of months ago. I have now got to request a replacement from the UK at cost, then get it sent here, for ON to look at it. I was told that you get to keep the paper part and you only have to surrender the photocard.
