Has anybody applied for the entrepreneur visa and what sort of time scales have you experienced so far? Any advice or helpful information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Guys
Just joined and saw your posts.
We (my wife and I) applied for Entrepreneur PR back in March 2010 and are still in the queue with no idea when it will start up.
We think our application will start about March 2013, but that's a guess!

From the waiting times it was about 36 months when we applied but went up soon after we applied, and as the site only gets updated about every three months it's anyone's guess when it will kick in.
It now stands at 59 months waiting time, but even then new applications have been suspended for the time being.
Our application is pretty straightforward and we are hoping to be in Canada, BC, sometime by Spring 2014 tops! Time will tell!

Is there any way to apply under the Provincial Nomination Program as an entrepreneur? A few years back that was the fastest route to get in to Canada, but not all Provinces had the program. MY sister applied and was accepted to PEI, but couldn't get on the BC program (She's been very happy in PEI for the past few years). With the proposed cuts to the Immigration service in the last Federal budget the wait lists may end up getting longer and submitting through the Provincial program may be a faster alternative? Just a thought.

There is a way through this route, but I do not know the full in's and out's of it as we are going in another way. Do some searching and all should be revealed - wart's and all!

This is a bit about it though.

Provincial Nominee's must sign and declare on Schedule 4 of the application that they intend to live in the province that nominated them.

It's unlikely that moving out of the Province would result in PR being revoked (I've never heard of it happening), but still, the possibility is there, particularly as a declaration is signed.

If you were planning to leave the province as soon as PR is granted, it's a bit unfair on the Province that nominated you. I'm not saying you have to stay there for the rest of your life, but at least a couple of years seems fair.

Don't forget, your place on a PNP scheme could be used by someone with a genuine intent to settle and make a life for themselves in the province. Also a tad unfair if you don't intend to settle for a couple of years at least.
