Would anyone know where I might buy clotted cream in Canada, Calgary to be specific?

i checked this out but sour milk is different. Took this from Wikipedia:

Clotted cream
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Clotted cream is a thick yellow cream made by heating and then leaving unpasteurized cow's milk in shallow pans for several hours; it is very similar to the Indian Malai.

Soured milk is prepared from whole milk via fermentation by lactic acid bacteria such as Lactococcus, Leuconostoc, and Lactobacillus bacteria. It is similar to yoghurt and kefir, but the different kind of bacteria give a different taste.

.................................

So the 2 are different. We used to own a farm so guessed they must be different but never having made it only butter, did not know how.

I know there is a place in Halifax that imports and only sells UK produce but have yet to find this shop.

I found a post on another forum about Double Devon:
"The one I buy in Canada is called "English Double Devon Cream" and it's made by The Devon Cream Company, Corsham, England, SNI3 9XN. There is an e-mail address: sales@coombecastle.com"

I think we've just bought some of that (or similar) from Safeway?!

Have you tried the Farmers Markets in Calgary? If they don't make it already, perhaps they would give it a try if you mention it to them. (Not sure which stall though - maybe one of the home baking places?)

Otherwise, there are online shops that import it (e.g. amazon), or you could make your own version with heavy cream (noticed a few recipes on the internet when I googled).

On the plus side, think of the calories you're saving from not having it! Wink

Certain Safeways and Sobeys stores have it, apparently. In very small pots, and it may be called something else, eg "Double Devon Cream".
