Sorry for the late reply.... Take your tme through Virginia. It is breathtaking! Stay at skylands for a few nights. It is fantastic! Do not use cheap motels! The best are Hamiltons. We took 10 days to do it. It was fantastic.. The Carolinas are a must... The smokey mountains were to commercialised for us. Blue ridge mountains were much nicer.
