Is it me?? Is it because I build up too much static every day??? Does anyone else have the problem since arriving here re static shocks??
Everytime you go to put a light on or touch any metal you get a wee shock?? I can't remember ever having this problem at home. Someone told me it is because the air is so dry, but even when I get out the car and close the door, Yow!!! I get another one!!!! Can anyone explain this to me or perhaps it is just me!!
Please if you can explain, don't make it too technical!!! Idea Thanks, Gael

I think it's mainly due to the humidity, I certainly noticed that shocking sensation when we moved here but you get used to it. I think it's a good idea to have a grounding wire hanging under your car, that seems to cut it down a lot. Britain is so damp the current doesn't get generated as easily, where as here we can be dry and very shocking. I remember in Ontario the massive electrical storms with forked lightening so strong the ground shook, another example of static electrical build up?

Oh cheers, Graeme. You know I was just informed the other day that Barrie gets the odd tornado from time to time, that was enough for me to pack me case.... now the ground shaking when the lightning strikes, that is like a scene out of "War of the Bloody Worlds" I will be spending most of my summer sitting in the basement, I feel. They say the sky turns greeny-yellow if there is a tornado watch. I have never ever been to a place that the sky turns a greeny-yellow... and hey I have now bloody moved to it!!! Oh God!!!
Thanks for the explanation though, will sleep very sound tonight!!! Yeh, Right!! Shocked
