Quick question.

We have a couple of macs - an emac and an ibook and want to bring them to Canada.

Can someone please advise as to whether we will have any problems with voltage, and generally plugging in using adaptors?

Cheers everyone.

Si.

mine is dual voltage, but that isn't a guarantee that your macs are, read...

a step down voltage converter is all that is required if you find your mac is not dual voltage, many people use these to run 220V appliances in Canada

I'm running my uk macbook with no problems, just using travel plug to connect to mains. I would expect that your emac is able to handle the lower voltage too, my old imac (lime) had this feature. but check the apple discussion forums someone should be able to confirm it for you

We are running our two Macs as well. Hubby takes his around the world (lap top) as he is an airline pilot.

We have now got two diff leads.

First the standard Mac lead / plug that they come with

Second one is the North American version that Mac do. Actually I chose not to buy the Mac one as its expensive so went with Macally. Most people that I know have Macally stuff.

On top of that we have the travel plugs.

My original mac lead with plug caught fire literally!!! Long story but end result was I needed a lead and a Canadian friend introduced me to Macally.
