I just posted my passport and forms for renewal. Has anyone recently got their's back and can describe the turnaround time? It says 3-weeks but I'm secretly hoping it's faster.

we sent ours off express post and got it back within the week.

PHhhw, disaster avoided! For anyone who wants to know, UK Adult Passport issued just under the 3 week mark (as advertised). It was received by the BHC on 1 April and returned by post today (17th). This was for the "renewal" of a previous children's passport.

Whatever happened to the days when we travelled on handwritten passports? *sigh* Or your photograph could include your face and half of your mum's?...

Once again the British High Commission in Ottawa has excelled itself. We sent off my son's passport on a friday and received the new one in 5 working days.

This is a great post as my daughter's passport expires next year.

Perhaps they should transfer the efficient staff from the High Commmission in Ottawa and disburse them through the various immigtration depts....these guys obviously know their stuff

Can you imagine a world where we get our PR within 5 days!!!
