Hi all, I'll give you an update of our situation.
We have AOR 14/09/06. Received 90 day letter October 2008.
Submitted updated docs 10/12/08.
Received medical requests mid March 2009.
Completed meds 24/03/09. Meds & afidavit re. non-accompanying kids submitted to CHC 02/04/09.
We're still waiting for PPR !
That's nearly 4 months of our PR visas (I hope we get them) used up.
I've expressed concerns to our agent a couple of times & just received replies that don't address our concerns, ie, don't worry !
I've emailed CHC 3 times and finally got a reply today to say our "medical examinations are being processed" !
We haven't had any requests for more info etc. So I don't understand why things are taking so long ?
This is incredibly frustrating. It doesn't help when you get glib one line replies from your agent & CHC.
Any advice, or similar frustrating experiences would ease my mind a bit.
Confused

Hang in there, I know it is tough. We were already in Canada on work permits when we applied for our PR so are supposed to be "fast tracked" and it still took us 16 months from start to finish - but then they did lose some of our paperwork.

Our immigration lawyer told us and this was "slipped out" by an embassy official that my hubby spoke to....that they only issue so many PR visas in one year. So if they have not completed your application by a certain cut off date or they have already issued their quota of visas ....you have to wait until the next year!!! I could not believe it....the embassy official knew right away that she should not have said that.

Hopefully yours will be done soon.....and then the wait time will be a thing of the past!

Hi Mal, thanks for the swift reply & good wishes.
We're hanging in there but it seems to get harder as each day passes.
We spent a lot of money on our advisor, which has proved to be money wasted. But you live & learn and hopefully become less naive !
I hope your info from the embassy isn't true, but I quite believe that's the case.
There doesn't seem to be a consistent approach to dealing with potential immigrants to Canada. Proiorities seem to alter.
I firmly believe our the length of time of our applications is governed by the efficiency (or lack of it) of CHC's work in London.
Thanks again,
V Cracking up

Hi V

I know it's tough but it will be worth it in the end!! I know exactly what you mean about money spent on advisers etc...I still feel pretty sick when I think of the money our immigration lawyer cost us. I must say though that we had a few sticky moments where he earned his money!!

Good luck and I will check on your posts!!
