Hello all, I would like some help. I wish to buy a house in the hua hin/ cha am area. I’m not yet married but plan to marry in the near future, so my question, is it possible to buy the property in my girlfriends name then take out a lease in my name. If not how is it possible to proceed. I do not wish to buy a condo or apartment. Thanks and hope someone can help.

Hi AppleMac

Probably the best place for info about Thailand is the Thai visa forum. You'll be able to get your answers there for sure. We don't have a lot of members in Thailand. (I'm in Malaysia for the time being.)

The current state of the economy has created an excess of foreclosed properties. When the bank seizes these homes, they remain vacant until someone else purchases the property. Buying property at auctions helps expedite the sale of these foreclosed homes, and provide buyers with housing options below market value.
