Hi Everyone

We are moving from UK to Fethiye in 2 weeks and have started packing. We have 4 TV's that were coming with us. We have been told that they won't work in Turkey.

Can anyone confirm if this is the case

Many thanks

Martibb

Hi, and welcome.

It depends on the TV:

HD televisions should be fine - both countries use the DVB-T transmission system, although I'm not sure how widely digital TV's available in Turkey.

For multi-standard conventional TVs, you'll need to switch from PAL-I (the UK system) to PAL-B (Turkey's system). There should be an option to do this in the setup menu somewhere.

Single-standard conventional TVs won't work at all - PAL-I channels are in the UHF frequency band, PAL-B uses the VHF band, so you won't even get a picture.

Hope that helps. Good luck with the move!
