Hi, We are a young family (27, 31 and 10mth old) and are thinking about moving to Cyprus within the next year. We currently own our own home in South Wales and would probably downsize to release some capital to rent for a while in Cyprus before making the move completely. We are willing to move anywhere depending on work and I just wondered what is the best way to find a job while still in the UK? Is this possible? A lot of people have said that most of the English speaking jobs (esp office work) is advertised by word of mouth. Do you need to speak some Greek for most jobs? Also what is available in terms of child care for a 1 - 2 yr old? Would we have to employ a childminder or do they have private nurseries in Cyprus? How much should we expect to pay for this? Any other advice on making the move would be greatly appreciated!!

Hi ,Lots to think about but if you are going to do it do so while child is young makes school easier.Yes there are private nurserys i know there are a few in paphos a new one just opened.Just google it and you find them. They are cheaper than here but thats as your wage is less
try hotel office work or holiday companys admin. Google jobs in Cyprus, better when you are there you get papers and get to know people.
so if you can have money to see you over till you get job.
All the best Tricia

thanks for the advice Tricia. We have agreed that we are definately going to make the move while the baby is so young because of schools etc. Do you know if the private nurseries are regulated like in the UK? Do the staff have the equivalent of NNEB etc?
