We have the Photo of the Week thread, now on page five. We have several other threads, specifically by week. And we had a poll, which seemed to indicate we wanted one rolling thread.

Forgive me if I'm missing something, but could someone post, preferably as a sticky, the preferred medium for offering a PotW?

Sorry, Mike - remiss of me. I think the easiest way of doing this is simply to take the original PotW posting and turn that into a sticky - which I've now done.

I'm still mulling over your other suggestion of creating a gallery for all the other pics. My gut reaction is not to, for three inter-related reasons:

a) Work avoidance! Twisted Evil

b) Dilution. If you're going to have a gallery for all the submissions, why have a Photo of the Week in the first place?

c) Duplication. In effect, the PotW thread already acts as a kind of gallery for most of the pics - the exceptions being the ones which Kay inserts from time to time to promote the postcards, or the ones we take from other threads (eg if no-one's submitted in a given week, or if someone's posted something particularly good - or topical - elsewhere).

(Another upside of c is that if someone who's happily chugging along in the main site decides to click on the link on the PotW page to the PotW thread on the forum, they may then be encouraged to register and join in.)

But I'm open to other arguments.

Sounds fine for me. Dave. Especially the Work Avoidance arguement. Just so long as we all know . . .
