Hi

There's not at the moment but I can easily make one. Let me know what you have in mind.

Hello Again

What I had in mind was a forum were expats could relate to positions available worldwide.

And give information on possible contracts, locations, contacts etc

Tell me what you think.

Hi jimthecoat (I wonder how you got your name! Very Happy )

Sounds like a good idea. I'll make a new forum now. Perhaps once it's there you'd like to post something to get it started.

Thanks

Kay

Hi pms

Welcome to the forum. Yes, we did set up a board for work related issues, but unfortunately it became a spam magnet. There were very few, if any, postings in the spirit of the board, just spam. The consensus was that we should delete it.

I doubt if we'd do it again. No one ever posted anything useful - just crappy adverts for their own sites (and we don't allow advertising on the forum). I can't really see any reason why we should reinstate the board.

BTW, job adverts are free to both job seekers and employers in our classifieds section. This is very popular, with new jobs going in there all the time. We don't accept get-rich-quick rubbish or MLM but we have masses of genuine really good jobs in the classifieds.

What sort of topics would you want to discuss in a jobs board? If we had a good moderator who was prepared to take the time to run things properly we could create a new jobs board but until then I've no wish to create another spam/advert magnet.

Hope this helps.

Hi Dan, welcome to BE.

We ditched the service a few years ago. It was more bother than it was worth because of too many spammers.

We run a very clean place here and sometimes have to make a cost/benefit decision about what we will and won't do. If something becomes onerous and time consuming for very little or no benefit, we chuck it.

That's what happened to our classified section. Too many crappy ads from India promoting "make money by typing adverts from home" scams. Yes, we could have fixed it, but why bother? We've got better things to do. 8)

Please remember also that you've posted on a thread where the most recent posting was in 2005, you can't be surprised that things have moved on since then.

Hello Kay,

Yeah, guess I can see that, it was just a bit of confusion Smile

Anywho, thanks for the reply and I bet this will be helpful to others as well, the thread may be from 05, but people still check it I bet.

Regards,
Dan
