A new species of fish has been discovered - with its genitals on its head.

Quite odd; it's anus is also on its head in the priapium slightly forward of the genitals. Seems to me you'd be swimming into your own faeces. There's a huge range of jokes I could get into, most would be smutty so I'll try to hold back. Fortunately fish don't get into oral sex as that would be a huge issue with this arrangement. Having a one sided priapium would also be difficult, does the male then have to approach from one side only or try to find a female with a lop-sided oviduct...and how would he tell? Very strange.

Maybe I should have posted this serious scientific story in the HoF.

It does seem very odd, but I guess it must work or they wouldn't have evolved that way.

Could be the result of a blow whale romance.

Just an afterthought... to pick up on a point Graeme made earlier.



Graeme, I don't see what's odd about that at all. I know loads of people who talk out of their @rse, so it seems to be quite a convenient arrangement to have the anus located on the head - specifically where one might expect the mouth to be.
