I see the Vatican's criticised President Obama for rescinding the ban on putting international development assistance through NGOs that give advice on abortion:

BBC News: Vatican attacks US abortion move

Quote:One Vatican official warned against the "arrogance" of those in power who think they can decide between life and death.

Hmm...

These Vatican officials claim to represent the supreme power of the universe, but don't have a shred of evidence to support their claim.

Most of them are men who've taken vows of celibacy and, if they're true to those vows, will never be fathers, let alone face the prospect of giving birth.

And they think they can decide what's best for the well-being of every mother and her unborn child, in every circumstance?

That's what I call arrogance.

Not only are they arrogant, they're also dishonest scaremongers who play on people's emotions rather than presenting reasoned arguments. They claim that giving advice on abortions amounts to advising people to use abortion as a means of birth control. That's just silly. Who in their right mind is going to have sex and rely on a physically and emotionally traumatic procedure for contraception?

Rant!

I agree, the Vatican is out of touch with reality, but then they are founded on an unreality anyhow.

As to your comment "Who in their right mind is going to have sex and rely on a physically and emotionally traumatic procedure for contraception?" Isn't the sex the physically and emotionally traumatic procedure, or am I doing it wrong?
