After about 5 years in Italy we're keen to return to the UK and are currently hoping to do this by early next year. One question we haven't been able to find any advice on is what happens to all those pension contributions we've been making while we've been here? Do they stay in Italy (and if so will we be get an (small) Italian pension when we retire in 15 years or so), can the contributions be moved into a UK pension fund or do we forfeit them when we come back? Any answers or pointers as to where we might find out would be appreciated. Thanks
