For several days now it has been very difficult to get into the forum.

Status bar message always says....."Waiting for www.britishexpat.com...."

At times pages do not load, or partially load. I have checked other web sites at the same time as waiting for this to load. Any I have visited all load as per normal.

No idea what the problem might be, Trev - we've not had the same experience from where we are, and traffic seems to be pretty much normal judging from the stats, though it's hard to judge because we usually have a sag in traffic in December with the run-up to Christmas and New Year.

Have you been having the same trouble with any of our other sites, eg http://tinnedmince.co.uk or http://www.notdelia.co.uk ?

TM takes about six seconds to load, ND not opening at all at this time (10:48 my time [EET])

Above message transmitted quickly, took 4 seconds for the reply (Message sent etc.,) to load.

Thanks, Trev. Depending on whether others are suffering the same problem, it sounds as if either there's a glitch on the network somewhere or we're maybe still getting intermittent heavy load glitches.

I'll see if there's anything else we can do to lower the burden on the server - I remember seeing something somewhere about WP installations using a lot of resources to check whether it's time to publish scheduled posts. If it's that big a problem, someone must have come up with a workaround by now.

static.addtoany.com seems to be the stumbling block today, other than that still a bit slow. I've been on the internet all morning, no problems, just came here and slow, 2 - 3 seconds to load.

Update....... all back to normal, fast loading.

Nothing I did, honest! Not the first time it's been the third-party remotely hosted scripts that slow things down.
