Most of the participants in this board are women, and both men and women have a sense of humour. I've received hints that some of you would like to tackle a non-fiction task, so here is a non-fiction homework which you may or may not choose to treat humorously:

Write an instruction manual for a washing machine. All instruction manuals have a target audience - in this case it is MEN.

This is a good one, Ruggie, but perhaps a wee bit too challenging. You've scared everyone off! Twisted Evil

Seriously, I'd like to write for BE again. In ye olden days, I used to write ALL of BE's content by myself Shocked . Changed days. Now we have so many talented writers, I tend to spend my time cutting and pasting. Dave has just said that I ought to start writing again.

The problem is I've got 37 days left before I complete my thesis. After that, maybe I'll become a columnist again. Hope so.

I find I do very little writing now that I have so many people offering me material for Freebooters and DSTW. Takes all my time to edit and produce. But maybe it's the same as becoming a manager - you should delegate whenever you can, develop the skills of your team, and concentrate on making the best use of what they do.

Since no-one fancies themselves as a technical writer, I'll have to dream up something more enticing...
