It was a fabulous day yesterday. We seldom get such warm days this late in October in Regina. I went walking at lunchtime with a friend and took some photos of Wascana Lake and the Legislative Building.

Spainboy told me ages ago how to post a thumbnail that you could click on to get the larger photo - I wonder if I remembered it correctly - if I did - you should be able to click on the photo to get to the bigger one.

Hey - it works!

It looks great, Liz. That's a definite candidate for a POTW.

You can hear the stillness. Definitely POTW material. Well done, Liz.

Here is another one of the lake.

And yes, we are going to get snow pretty soon, but I can always close the blinds and have one of these photos as my desktop and pretend its still like this!!

Nice photo as well Liz. One suggestion though - straighten that horizon! Skewed horizons create a lot of unwanted tenstion in a photo.

All of my cameras have the ability to superimpose a grid in the viewfinder. I use these both to keep lines straight and to keep an eye on the "golden thirds".

Thanks for the info - I'm off to get the manual for mine and see if it offers that function too. I've still never learned to use it properly which is a bit embarrassing, but there always seems to be so many other things to do.

When we're back in Thailand we're planning a photo expedition to the River Kwai, so I'll maybe learn something on that trip.

The only trouble with every digital camera that I have used is that when its really sunny - you can't see the screen. Looking through the viewfinder doesn't really work so well so most of the time I just point the camera at something and press the button and fix it afterwards!

Do you know! I'm glad you've just said that (not that I take pleasure in your inability to see, of course! Laughing ) My eyesight has worsened over the last couple of years and since I bought an e-cam recorder two summers ago, I found I have the same trouble. The screen viewer is enormous but most of the time I can't see what I'm supposed to be filming so just do the same, point the damn thing in the right general direction and hope for the best. I thought it was just me! Confused

Mind you, if what I film came out as well as your photos, I wouldn't mind so much. 8) Laughing
