I was diagnosed with Ms in April 2004 and moved to Canada (with my Canadian wife) in April 2005.
A friend at my local church told me that I should be able to claim benefit from Britain as I had worked there from 16 to 39 years of age. Can anyone out there put me straight on this?

Hi Clivey, welcome to the forum.
As I understand it, provided you have a minimum of 11 years paying in to national insurance (the stamp) in UK then you will be entitled to a pension. If you are asking about disability benefit, then you best ask the UK pensions people.
By the way I edited your posting as it didn't need to be in bold, or blue , also this needs to be in the Canada board I think as this particular area of the board is for people asking questions about moving away from UK. Unfortunately I can't move it to the Canada forum, so I am locking it here and perhaps you could post again on the Canada board (without the bold and blue Smile ).

Smile
