I'm either going blind or senile! There is a new thread by Ladymuck on Malta > Money Matters called 'Banks'. This afternoon I answered it, she replied and I replied to that. Now all I can see is the original post without any replies.

Also on the same board, I edited a thread called 'Mortgages, cost of living' creating a thread called 'Mortgages' and cutting some of the stuff out of it and adding it to the existing thread called 'cost of living'. Can't see them, can see the original thread. Can anybody see the new stuff (please!!!)?

One reason I might have a problem is that in doing the editing of that thread I opened a second window to cut stuff from. Maybe that nullifies what I did (hope not!) or maybe it suggests a cookie dance?

Ok, I'm off dancing and will report back about that...
Tim

I've cookie danced and the problem is still there. Any ideas?

btw, when I said I had two windows open, that was when I was editing the 'mortgages, cost of living' thread. By then I had already answered the 'banks' thread and received a reply to that answer. So I think it's not a 2-window problem, but I have no idea what it might be!

Hi Tim

I've also noticed some missing posts. Dave has gone to bed now but I'll alert him to the problem so he can look at it first thing tomorrow.

Sorry for the inconvenience. I don't know what the problem is but I hope we can get it fixed soon.

Kay

Well, I've had a look and the postings aren't there...

However, I think we've been moved to a different server during the last 24 hours. So I suspect that the hosting company restored data from a point a bit earlier than the time the switch was made, which means that the postings in the interim were lost. (Nice of them to warn us. Evil or Very Angry )

Apologies to anyone whose postings have disappeared. Unfortunately, there's nothing I can do to recover them. But I will take this up with the hosting company - I think the same thing happened last time.

Yes, give 'em a rollicking! I've replaced my lost posts on the Malta board, and I'm sure ladymuck will too because she seems the switched-on type. But I'm just happy it happened yesterday and not over the weekend when I was shifting things all over the place in the revamp. It wouldn't have been amusing to have to do that all over again!

Hope people re-post the other messages that Kay noticed went AWOL, too!

Hope so too, Tim. There were some good discussions going on. Sorry again for the inconvenience. Smile
