I realy miss ruhbarb here in Greece but my friends tell me its impossible to grow here !
Any ideas why?

Or should I just give a root of it to my sons godfathers mother and see if she can grow it in Kastoria (Very northern Greece area)?

Does ruhbarb grow better in a cold or colder climate?
So is it to warm in Thessaloniki?

Anne, I have no idea why you cannot grow rhubarb in Greece. If you have a crown, plant it in a shady corner, with loads of organic matter, and/or dung. Give it plenty of moisture. Moisture is critical. Shade, too, is important.

If you can privide these things, there is no reason why you cannot grow rhubarb.

Don't believe your friends! Prove them wrong! Try anything once!

My mum is sending a crown of it out to me, and so will try, just to see what happens....
I`ll also send some up to Kastoria and see if it makes any difference...

You know what they say...if at first you don`t succeed.... Laughing
