it is actually the norm to give up copyright to your work when entering competitions etc, where it may be used. on tv as well, some stars/ companies have made small fortunes with this. by the way, i am also a writer, albeit in my spare time, i also have the video eqpt and editing facilities if anybody is interested in trying to do something

? This looks as if it was intended to be a response on an existing thread, rather than a new subject. What is its real purpose? To offer collaboration in preparing videos?

PS if you have submitted material to editors, you surely understand that (ee cummings excepted) proper use of capitals is essential.

hello ruggie. yes it was intended as areply. and im sorry if my non use of capitals offended you, i hadnt realised it was so important. I never said i had submitted work, i film my own stuff.

PS if you have submitted material to editors, you surely understand that (ee cummings excepted) proper use of capitals is essential.

also you can pull me up on any of my spelling mistakes, but i cant really be bothered changing them, it is always better to write something down all the way, than keep stopping and starting

I hadnt realised you was a literary agent or anything, otherwise you may have been able to answer it for her.
I was merely saying that if they fancied working together on something, then i had the eqpt to help, obviously this wasnt acceptable to YOU (
i was only trying to respond to a posting where somebody was asking a question, but it looks as if you dont want new members on here,
you can obviosly help all the members with there questions and responses, good luck teaching.
THANKS ANYWAY

Surely it's better still to read through what you've written and correct the mistakes so that others can understand it more readily? Besides, how much does it slow you down to hit the shift key while you type a letter? And, as Ruggie correctly says, if you're submitting work then correct spelling and grammar are crucial - otherwise you seriously undermine your credibility as a writer.

And we're still none the wiser as to what your original posting was a reply to.

Actually, I think his reply was meant to be to the thread entitled: Writing Competion - Win £1,000.

The clue was "comps" - meaning "competitions".

Thanks, Alan. OK, bvlgary, please read the guidelines before posting.

In particular:

- the 'new post' button starts a new topic
- the 'reply' button posts replies and comments to an existing discussion thread

- make an attempt to use capitals and other punctuation correctly

This forum takes effort and money to run, but we don't charge for it. It's only fair that we set the rules of the game.

I'm now locking this thread, which prevents any further posting on it.
