Hi
I'm new to BEF. We will be moving from the middle east to belgium in new year. My 4 year old cant start the International School til sept 2008 so we were thinking of her going to local flemish school for 5 months. I 'm concened the lanuage difference will undermine her confidence and turn her off school. She is v confident and enjoys school at present. I also realise it could be a brillant oppertunity to learn a lanauge and be v. positve generally.

If anyone has been through this i would love to hear your thoughts
Kind regards Sad

Hi

Welcome to BE.

Re your question, you could try contacting Ruth, BE's child psychologist, as she may have some advice for you. It's a free service if she answers your query in her regular BE column. (Just like a magazine problem page.) It's confidential too. If you decide to do this you can contact Ruth directly via her contact form on BE.

Here's a link to Ruth on BE:

Please check the archives first, though. There are links to them near the bottom of the page I referred to above. The question may well have already been covered in her columns.

Hope this helps.

Kay
