Hi Ben

Welcome to the forum. We lived in Delhi for a few years and found it to be a great place for meeting new friends, exploring, taking photos etc. Hope you also have a positive experience in India and that you'll make some new friends in Mumbai soon.

I've got the impression that, whilst Delhi is the political capital, Mumbai is where it's all happening. Good luck! Let us know how you get on.

Hi Ben!

I'm moving to Mumbai in June for 6 months. It's not been completely sorted yet, but my office is in the Andheri area so I assume I'll be living around there.

I went out for a week back in February and it's a great city. Everyone is so friendly - you're going to love it!

Sarah

P.S - I work for a publishing company, am moving from Birmingham and am also in my 20s

Hi Ben, I've made it to Mumbai!! I'm living really near Powai in Nahar's Amrit Shakti. It's about 10 minutes from Powai and Hirnandani.

I'm sure you're totally settled now, but if you ever wanted to meet for an 'expat chat', let me know!

Hi Ben and also Sarah
I see you guys are fairly new in Mumbai and hoping you wuld be prepared to share experiences and advice.

I have been offered a posting in Mumbai. Office in in Powai and I have been advised that Powai is where I should live.
Posting would be for 18 months and I would not be able to bring my family.
Any advice you can give me will be most welcome - have posted an item in the forum called "Mumbai for the uninitiated" - some more details about me there.

I really need to know if Powai is a good place to live and be able to meet other westerners and also locals - or should I consider other places. How to get around (no car in deal) and how to meet people, make friends, find leisure activities, find out about living in Mumbai.

thanks
CJ
