Don't worry about this! In April 2006 we upgraded our Malta content from being a board on the In-Country Experts Forum to being a fully-fledged multi-board forum in its own right. The old version contained many threads that covered several topics all at once. We now want to cover only one very specific topic per thread so, in migrating to the new setup, those multi-topic threads had to be edited (a few that were just too daunting have been left in the 'There's gold in them thar hills' board so you'll get the picture!) Unfortunately the forum software doesn't allow copying of messages, so it wasn't possible to make several copies and then edit them down to individual topics. Using quotes is the best workaround for this, so that's what we did. If you see a thread that seems to be all quotes, it just means we split those quotes out from a longer thread during the forum revamp.
Please don't be intimidated by this - you don't need to use lots of quotes in your own messages! Indeed, since we now want messages to be very specific, there shouldn't be much need for quoting at all. Just post what you want to say in normal typing, and only quote if the comment you're responding to is several posts higher up in the thread and your comment doesn't follow on from the latest post. Please limit the text you quote to the part that is relevant to your mesage.
