I was wondering: what is the most loved sport in Malta?

Shouting and football

Though walking up the Għarb road one might easily conclude that it's banger racing.

highest participation sports - difficult - very few Maltese adults actually seem to do any exercise at all - swimming in the sea is popular (or often just floating about, avoiding the jellyfish - slalom swimming ?)

I thought they were jellyfish , fishing seems to be well supported, as a sport it,s about as strenuous as golf, but less walking.

Playing endless card games & Bocci for the boys, coffee mornings and bingo for the girls

local sports include

o seeing which band club can make the loudest fireworks,
o competitions for the ugliest paint job on the oldest car with the loudest ICE,
o playing chicken wth cars coming in the opposite direction under the aquaduct and
o trying to work out the rules of Brilli (spg?).

Brilli appears to be correct (of course, probably spelt differently across Gozo)

A session of Haga Mohgaga was very popular amongst them and required considerable skill in solving the riddles, customarily presented by the eldest of the group.
