Our choice of a place to live could be influenced by the proximity of regular ballroom dancing venues. Any info anyone ? We know that there is active Dancesport in Malta- but that is a bit more intense than what we do. So its more foxtrot, quickstep and tango for us rather than jive and rock and roll.

Cheers..Ed

Thank you for that. Havent been to Marsascala since 1996, so dont recall a cinema. But then again I cant imagine that it will look the same in any case. Still we can have a look at the kind of dancing they do when e visit, hopefull in Oct.

Cheers..Ed

There are daily afternoon tea dances in the larger seafront hotel in Qawra throughout the winter months, also week-end evenings, apparently open to all as a group of about twenty Maltese men make their way up there from the south for what they consider to be a great night out. I'm more turkey trot than fox trot so not my scene unfortunately.

DD, thanks for that. We did have a dance at one of the hotel bars in Qawra in Jan. However on that particular occasion there was a largish group of line dancers, and the DJ/MC appeared to cater for them for about 70% of the time. Nothing against line dancing as such, but I find it a bit boring with the repetition of the steps. Each to his own of course.

Cheers..Ed

Supply and demand OzEd, as you well know not everyone can do the ballroom thing these days whereas line dancing is far easier and therefor more popular, It's a lack of rythmic legs thing with me but i used to be good at that lazy line dancing, "Oops upside your head". Laughing

You're quite right DD - market forces rule !!. However to me it is one of the minor mysteries of modern life that there are so many folk out there who can master higher technology without blinking an eye, but cant move their pedal extremities in rhythm. Smile

cheers
