Sounds like you are getting somewhere with it Fran!

My contact in malta told me to only apply for shops with a prexisting Class 4 Permit (Which our business requires) so i intend to avoid some of that Malarkey.

I have viewings scheduled for the week we land - the self employment registration didn't seem that difficult though?
Maybe it will be in practise!

Hey - great news! Where is it going to be? So pleased for you Fran - glad that it's all working out, and that you love Malta despite the red tape.

My husband says to me when I get frustrated about the Maltese way 'remember why you want to go there - that's how it is, accept it, or stay in UK', that usually does the trick and calms my frustrations.

Your husband offers good advice. Wherever you are life is a series of fences which have to be climbed. For me I'd rather climb them in the sunshine than in the cold and rain. c.

I'm with Chris on that one too - much better when the weather isn't making your mood worse!

We have just spent the last 2 weeks going round in circles again......seems the building permit on the shop we want may be out of date ?? no one that should know what the shop owners needs to be able to rent it to us doesnt know......and we cant get a trading licence without the MEPA building permit which says it is a class 4 shop.....
My head and my heart are aching......been shedding tears as we are running around trying to get this off the ground and getting no where fast....and also...I,m flipping cold !

Hey Fran!

Any news? We have had a tough time too last two weeks, and I wondered this morning, do you think one day you and I will meet up over a coffee, and look back and laugh at this period in our lives? Obviously you won't be able to spare me long as you'll have to dash back to the busy shop, and I will have to get back home to Xemxija - I do hope so


Maybe for both of us it will make it all the more special when things fall into place.

Either that or share a packet of tissues lol......

I know these things are sent to try us.......but......come on.........give us a break eh ???

I am sure all our little problems will come out in the wash....it will only serve to make us enjoy what we have achieved !!
My frustration and tears are remnants of depression from a few years ago.....and they seem to come out to readily ...and once we all know what we are supposed to be doing and how......it will all be ok...ha ha...

Keep your chin up too...it will happen.......and in the order and at the time its supposed to..ok ?
We will meet for that coffee..........and i wont have to rush back......I will leave the staff (hubby lol) to cover for me so we may even be able to fit in lunch !
