I am moving to Gozo in October BUT due to circumstances beyond my control I have to drive my van and contents over in August. The house wont be available until October so where do I keep my belongings safely until then? Does anyone know of a storage facility in Gozo? I have tried the internet but they only offer storage solutions if you use the company for removal. Sad
Any advice greatfully recieved

Hi - AFAIK there are no storage facilities in Gozo - do you mean just somewhere to store your van, with the contents inside, or do you want to unload the contents and take the van back ? Either way do you just need a garage ? Someone might be able to rent you garage space for a couple of months. Alternatively, although the house won't be ready, would the house garage be free, or one room in the house ?

There's nothing like a Big Yellow or Access Self-Store, no. Have you tried asking your future landlord (if renting) or estate agent if they know of any garages. I presume the van returns to the UK with you and can't be left in Gozo with contents inside because there are hundreds (thousands?) of empty garages with no doors on here.

Thank you all for your help.
I have had a word with the agent who has spoken to the landlord. Although the house is being rented for the next few weeks, he has said that by the time I need storage (just for contents and not the van) the house will be empty so I can put my stuff in earlier than tenancy start. I need to empty the van to refill with more stuff!!!
I am like an excited puppy and cant wait to start my new life in Gozo. I've already decided where the Christmas tree is going.
Thanks again to all

My sister and brother in law are moving from Mellieha to Gozo too. Hence the purchase of the van. The more we looked at removal costs for both moves it became clear that the cheapest way was to buy a van and do it ourselves. Plus I get a mode of transport out of it. We have 3 dogs between us and they wont all fit in brother in laws car so once again the van was a perfect solution. The trip from the airport with my 2 dogs and crates plus luggage was a problem to start with and we haven't even got there yet.
