Actually i miscalculated.. originally I paid eur1200 2 years ago, because of the higher registration value then; but with the 2009 tax rates at 2 years older and about 30% depreciation to its registration value, the tax would have been eur870. But because of the new budget the registration tax would be as the transport web site calculates eur1410.

And that is because they changed the rate from 0.23% to 0.40% for petrol 180-220g/km euro 2 standard cars. It maybe actually more correctly 0.35% because I think my car is a euro 3 not a euro 2 car (it was registered jun 2000, and the euro 3 standard took effect jan 2000). Which would make the new tax eur1250. You probably want to check your rate - they take a guess based on its year of manufacture.

Anyway thats enough registration tax calcs for me for now:)
