I want to be close enough to the buzz, nightlife etc (sliema, St Juilan's) but also I know they will be expensive to live in. So what areas do I need to look at that will be a bit cheaper, but close enough for a bus or even walk? Is the other side of the island quiet too? (Mellieha)

Thanks
Claire

Qawra & Bugibba are cheaper options than Sliema & St. Julian's, but still, the nightlife is quite buzzing (loads of bars, pubs & restaurants) especially in summer, and they're well connected by buses, you can go practically anywhere on the island..
