Is there any such thing? Do they need to be registered?
I have childminding experience and considering the difficulty everyone seems to have regarding finding childcare its something I could set up again in Malta - IF I can find what rules and regs there are??

I saw your post and am looking someone to do afternoon child-minding for my son from mid-May onwards. Would you be interested? What experience do you have?

Hi a1974s and welcome to BE.

Hulstons post was a request for info about child minding in Malta. It wasn't a job wanted advert. If it had been, it should have gone into the adverts section here, which is a paid section (50% to Gozo SPCA).

Your response is essentially a situations vacant advert. If you have a Sit Vac ad, then please post it in the adverts section - and pay the going rate for it.

I must say it's a little bit odd to join a forum, not introduce yourself, or say anything other than to attempt to let it be known that you need to hire a child minder.

If you want to be part of our community, you'll be made very welcome, but the forum should not be used as a receptacle for free advertising.

Thanks

Kay

Hi Kay

I am sorry if I caused any upset. Many thanks for setting me straight and I will do exactly as you suggested. I was just googling for childminders in malta and this post came up.

Kind regards

Andrea

Hi Andrea

Thanks for your reply. I'm not upset, it's just that we get all sorts of people on here and it's kinda hard to trust them until we get to know them even just a wee bit better. Plus we need to follow the forum rules or we'd be over-run with spams, scams, and other unwanted stuff.

Good to know that Google is sending people our way.

Hard sell coming up now...

If you are considering taking out an advert with us, which you are welcome to do, may I suggest that for a bit extra cash you could become a Premium Member?

Premium Members have access to several privileges that freebie members don't have, including the use of the Premium Members' Marketplace where you can post (at no extra charge) any ads you want to buy, sell, exchange, hire, etc. Most of the best stuff on offer goes in the Premium Marketplace and gets snapped up before it ever goes public.

Premium Membership also gives you access to the Recommended Suppliers Forum. Which is worth its weight in gold. Being an internet forum, I guess it doesn't really weigh anything but I'm sure you know what I mean. (Sales patter is not in my skill set.)

And also Premium Members can use the PM (private message) system to communicate with each other behind the scenes.

I really hope you don't think that was a big sales pitch. Embarassed

Just tryin' to help.

Why not have a look around on BE, settle in, and then decide if you want to get more out of it?

LOL! Thanks. Very Happy

We do offer loads of free stuff here on the Malta forum and around the rest of the site, and there's no obligation to buy membership. The main reason I mentioned it was because I thought you were maybe going to buy an advert, and for £10 more you'd get a lot more bang for your buck.

Adverts are a good option for drive-by people, but for those who want to be part of the community, then the Premium Membership is definitely a better option.

I'm going to shut up now before I dig myself into an even bigger hole.
