Hi I am new to this forum, I looking to retire to Malta in Oct. and I am seeking advice. Can I have a comfortable lifestyle on 1500euros per month, including

It all depends on your lifestyle, but there are plenty of people living a nice life in Malta and somewhat less than that, so you should be OK

I have a feeling Maestro cards count as MasterCard - in which case PayPal should accept the payment even if you don't have a PayPal account.

If that doesn't work, let us know and we'll try and think of another way round it.

That's a shame as we'd love to have you as a new member. I guess it might need an international bank transfer of some sort. I don't know much about these things and how much they might cost. I think we should take advice from Mark about this.

international bank transfer - normally € 20 odd, but depends on countries and banks - however if intra eurozone, then international is the same as domestic transfer

foxfire - are you unable to use paypal for anything then ?

I have never used pay pal. I use my bankcard to pay airline trips or atm.

you appear to have the co-branded one - I thought paypal accepts Maestro cards

ps as you are having problems with this, it suggests your card may not be suitable for when you move to Malta, so maybe have a look at some alternatives before you make the move
