Hope this is the right place to post this Very Happy

When I moved into my apartment, I was given the 'english' version of the street name, in St Julians. Now I looked up my apartment on this postcode checker and it shows as San Giljan, instead of St Julians, and uses the 'Triq' streetname - so I've started using that as my address for letters and parcels.

My first courier delivery was due today (I moved in 2 weeks ago) and it came up on the online tracking asking me to contact them reference the address. When I spoke to the guy there, he said to me San Giljan and St Julians are different places! Am I crazy, have I got it wrong? I thought I was doing the right thing by adopting the maltese address.

Both addresses are correct.

San Giljan = St Julians - see the local council website - click between Maltese and English, and it changes one for the other Smile

I thought so, and I checked with my cleaner who confirmed it as well. I thought I was going mad for a minute! Hopefully they deliver OK tomorrow - I was looking forward to the parcel today as well, extremely impressed that it left Birmingham UK 4pm yesterday and was out for delivery at 10am this morning!

@SRG - if you've found a great courier company please recommend them on our Recommended Suppliers forum. The info will be very useful to many, I'm sure. Thanks.

I will do Kay, if it turns up! I emailed them a google maps link to my address yesterday and phoned them this morning to make sure they got it, after a while they came back to confirm all was OK and it is now showing Out for Delivery again. Fingers crossed they find it this time!

I'll post a review in the recommended suppliers section, as everything did turn up and it turned out the address problem was because, for some reason, it was addressed to SAN GWANN instead of SAN GILJAN!! I have no idea if the wine caused this when I typed in the address or I chose something in a drop down list by mistake - either way its not the couriers fault.

Off to write a review Very Happy

It seems chaotic, but the Postal Service here works most of the time.
Our house doesn't even have a number, just a name. Our small stretch of street isn't even named on Google maps!!!

We still get all our mail, especially the bills... Laughing
