Hi,

Many thanks for all the info on here - it's answered many questions we had.

For those who know me, at last the day draws near, after 15 years of talking about it, five years finding somewhere, a year of hell and trying to purchase our property - we hope to be there end of Nov!

My question is if we drive over and sort out the car either paying tax or being exempt (we hope), and my husband needs to return to UK before this application is complete can he do so without taking the car.

Friends have said he can't leave without the car until it is registered.

I can't see why he couldn't leave the country without the car.

No me either, unless it'sd in case people drive over and dump cars without paying tax? I couldn't spot anything in any of the threads about it
