I am a junior doctor from Ireland and for health reasons am looking at going to malta to continue / start my postgraduate medical training.

Does anyone know if the medical training scheme is good in Malta?

Junior doctor wages??

Junior doctor hours per week??

How long would it take to be a consultant??

Is training recognized in Uk or other EU countries??

Can't answer in any great detail, but the standard of medical care/training seems to be as good as, if not better, than the UK.

Our son's consultant has had extensive work experience/training here and in the UK so I would assume qualifications are recognised both ways.

I was chatting to a Maltese GP last year, I got the impression that Maltese qualifications are not recognised in UK or Australia
