Hi all,

I am in my usual state of dimwitedness - sorry! My car is due for the Maltese MOT (is it VRT) and road tax at the end of this month. Where do I get the road tax?

Lol, mine is due this month too, first time. I have a reminder from my insurer for insurance but there is also a part on the letter which says that for a couple of euros my insurer will also sort my tax too, so going for that option. My boss also had previously mentioned that his insurer sorts out road tax too.

Get your VRT done first - then get insurance then road tax done - you can get them done together by the insurance company, or in my case at the garage where the car is VRT'd as the garage is also the insurance agent, and renews road tax at cost. You can also renew your road tax on line, but you must have VRT and insurance done first (and updated on the central database).

ps if you have any outstanding parking tickets etc, you must clear those before you can renew your road tax
