Malta - British Expat Forum

Hi there,
We are planning to retire to Malta this year and was wondering what the healthcare system is like for senior citizens there. At the present time we live in Spain and have a very good free healthcare system, also I should like to know how active Freemasonery is in Malta, as now that I am retired, I should like to commit more. Any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated.

healthcare - making allowances for the size of the islands, the healthcare system is good. It would be free if you qualify by transferring your rights from another EU country - you will find lots of info on healthcare in the healthcare section of this forum (which I've moved this to)

Masons - no idea, other than they have a lodge in Valletta (I think its there)

Can't complain about the healthcare my wife and i have recieved over the years, as Mark said there is a lodge in Valletta but Freemasonary is widely practiced so you should be kept busy in the winter months.

Thanks for your welcome to the Forum - I am sure that we will have many questions to ask in the near future. The healthcare system seems the same as in Spain so that is great news and we have received another reply on Freemasonery so our first questions have been answered very quickly - thanks. we will read up on the article on Healthcare as you suggested.
