Hi, great website by the way. I am looking to move to malta in the next few weeks. I have been in contact via email with a few estate agents to find out more information about renting. When browsing their websites I have found numerous properties (2 bed apartments, some with parking, in the surrounding towns of the St Julians / Sliema general area) for under 400 Euros per month, but when i contact the agents they tell me that they do not have anything available in that price range. Also have found properties in St Pauls Bay / Bugibba that are similar but a little less per month.
Is it unrealistic to find a 2 bed property near some shops, bars, etc, for under 400 per month?

Hi bsc, and welcome to the forum Smile

Not unrealistic at all - I helped someone find a place in Gozo last year, 3 bedrooms, sea view, near the centre of Ghajnsielem, for under € 400 a month. Without the sea view, it might have been € 300. However, St Julians/Sliema are two of the more pricey areas for renting in Malta

Swieqi, where I live is next to St Julians is a little cheaper - but 2 beds still cost around 500-+ per month. Rental prices improve further inland away from the coast, and its very nice there in villages like Attard and Balzan - worth taking a look, unless you really have to be by the sea.

if you wanna live in the most touristic area (St Julians and Sliema) then you will pay for sure more than everywhere else. If you look for rental in Gzira, Bugibba, Pieta etc ... then the price will go down and you might find some really nice properties (sea view, big rooms etc ...) for not so much.
It just depends where you wana live as it makes a big difference !
