Made it to Malta, weather's nice but concerned about ID card. It has only been issued for 6 months (End of October), Why would that be?
Also banks are saying that the ID Card number that ends with an A, means that I can not open an account without a reference from UK bank, can anyone help?

ID cards and residency certificates are being replaced by a joint card, from June this year.

"Also banks are saying that the ID Card number that ends with an A, means that I can not open an account without a reference from UK bank, can anyone help?" - you can sometimes open a bank account without a reference letter if you show them your residency certificate (you have applied for a residency certificate ?)

Is there anymore news on the update of ID cards? As with many others ours expire 31st Oct - we haven't had any info about replacement.
