Going to relocate to Malta in October/November. This is a bit complicated but here goes, I have an old Volvo v70 estate, a car transporter trailer on which I am going to carry a Boom Trike (www,boom-trikes.com). When we get to Malta I eventually want to register them on Maltese plates when we get our residents permit ie. within 6 months of getting there. I have owned the trike for just over 2 years so would it be exempt from registration fees The car my wife has owned for only a few weeks so there will be I presume registration fees to pay on this. Because the trike is on a trailer how do I get proof of it coming into the country from the ferry companies (channel tunnel & Pozzallo-Malta}
If I can sort all this out and get it into Malta I will run it as a private car but eventually I would like to run it as a tourist business doing trike tours of Malta as I do here in the UK. If not it would just become an expensive toy
Anybody got any thoughts, any help would be much appreciated

Hi David, and welcome to the forum Smile

Trike - should be exempt as more than 2 years, but you should check whether you would be able to use an exempted vehicle for business. As for proof, can't you get it added as a note on your ferry ticket ?
